My 1st card made in New House

Well with the craft room now sorted I actually enjoyed sitting & browsing through CDs I had bought & never used & ended up not being able to resist using Makey Bakey Mice Christmas CD ROM it's well cute :) the Decoupage, backing paper & sentiment are from the CD & then I added a few polystyrene balls to a bag & added a little glitter & shook the bag until they were coated to make mini snowballs. I then used Collall tacky glue to add the fake snow & mini snowballs. The baubles Are held in place using Collall 3D gel. I added some brown ribbon & some pearls & I'm looking forward to making the box. It will have to wait now until tomorrow as I'm starting tea now then I can have a bath & watch some TV. xxx

Home Made Fat Balls

Ok......
so I bought a tub of 50 Fat Balls but the amount of birds that visit soon left the nets empty, so last night I put some thick bread & sesame seed rolls into the blender to turn them into bread crumbs, added peanuts & bird seed & then melted some lard. I then moulded them into balls. I left them in the fridge over night & this morning Iv opened the empty nets & placed the new fat balls inside. I used bakers twine to sew the tops & left some length to the twine for hanging the Fat Balls up. As I was sewing the nets up my German Shepherd dog stole one & tried to do a runner with it, he loves eating nuts as my parrot regularly throws them out the cage to him. I had my hubby hang them on the bird stand & Arch way & so far so good as they love them :) xxx

Internet is up & running :)

Ok so the post I wrote last week has only just been sent but how fab things can become within a week :) Poor Satallite installation man was mugged by us all to get our gadgets connected to the wireless router lol. I was unable to post comments unless I was in town which is an hour drive away & I haven't been out much, I'm enjoying the new house & surroundings to much. 

It was all go today with the Satallite being fitted & then the chimney sweep arrived early which was a good job as the lounge chimney took him over an hour to clean. The bedroom fire place is now up & running & I wanna go bed early just so I can watch the fire in bed. My Drs medical went well but I have to go back on Thuraday with weather permitting as we have bad weather coming in but with freezer full & store room bursting I'm ready to be snowed in now. I'm sure broadband will go down when bad weather hits us but that's something I can cope with as long as it's not off for 4 weeks lol xxx

Internet........ Pants!

Ok so yesterday was the day I waited for BT to arrive to set up my Broadband. I placed the order 5 weeks ago & text messages & emails had been coming in to the countdown. BT man arrived nice & early & my day was planned to sit & play on the Internet all day to get back into the swing of it. Then! The words I didn't want to hear we are to remote to get any broadband :( we have a telephone line but the line is to old to be able to receive internet :( i now have to spend the day looking at satellite broadband company's. I think a phone call to BT is in order as now I'm sick of the messages coming in from BT saying my broadband is up & ready! I think it's time they started to listen to actual people instead of automatic robots sending messages out which is wasting my mobile phone contract internet. 

On the bright side..... I'm still loving my new house & now my Daughter & Grandkids have moved in the house is filled with love & laughter. 

I'm also looking forward to my new Doctors medical as I'm sure my stress levels are extremely low & BP pressure is perfect. Life is good :) xxxxx

New start

Well I'm here in my new house & to be honest.... WOW I totally love it. I wake up to birds singing & it's such a relaxing environment its a dream come true. It took two lorry loads to bring all our stuff up but now most of the boxes are unpacked & things have a place. I never know where to find things in their new place but that's part of the fun. I love my bedroom and I could stay in that room all day watching the fire, but it's time for me to get back into the craft room. I don't know what to make its like all my inspiration is back in St. Helens so I'm going to go sit in the room & look for something to finish rather than look for something to start from fresh. 

Yet another.... Scarf

Sat and knitted another scarf this morning same as last nights just different colour. Thank God I have no more spider web bobble wool left as I'm bored with it so going have a rummage & see what I have to knit something different ;) xxx

New Scarf

When I start something I really can't stop! Just made my Mum a spider web bobble scarf in her favourite colour. This took two 50g balls of Papillion wool measures around 120cm in length. Only 8 stitches plain knit & an hour to make xxx

Knitting needles out

Ok so I got bored with watercolours not picked them up since day 2, I know when I'm not good at something & give up easily. But no crafting is turning my brain to mush! So this evening iv sat down & knitted a 1x1 Rib Scarf using Jumbo Chennile wool. It knitted up really fast took about an hour to make it 130cm scarf & it's real warm :) 

Water Colouring Day 2

Ok so I finally opened the water colour pencils & had a go. Being able to paint is something Iv always wanted to try but never got round to it. The 1st image i coloured was Pollyanna Pickering's Tiger Cub, I used watercolour pencils direct onto Crafters Companion Water colour card & didn't add water. Here is the result. 

I then coloured one of Sheena Douglas stamps in again on Crafters Companion Watercolour card but this time added water, I wasn't impressed with my colouring ability & added some paint splatters which I actually quite like.

Today Iv just sat down & tried something different to my 1st 2nd & added water to the card & then painted the 1st image again, it's still wet but I actually prefer it to the 1st Tiger Cub I coloured.

Pretty chuffed I actually tried painting, Idon't  think painting is for me but at least I can say I have now tried it xxx

Monday morning......

Today my Hubby is going to help his mate rebuild his racing car engine. It's the 1st day I'm going to be left alone in the house with no craft room! Usually he goes out & I lock myself away crafting so today is going to be soooooooooooo boring with my stuff packed away! I reckon it's going to be back to watching how to colour DVDs & have a play with watercolours. Such a shame Iv had them so long & never opened them so looks like today could be the day they finally get used :) 

Happy 9th Birthday Crafters Companion

Crafters Companion 9th Birthday was a great way to also say  "Thank you" for getting me back into card making. So I designed a clock, & best thing is its really easy to make & I did a tutorial for you to follow so you can all make it using Crafters Companion new Big Board.

This was the 3rd Card I made for the same assignment & I really let myself go with it, I love the fun side of Halloween & these 2 stamps were perfect to play with.

Howdy Scruffy Little Cat Card

This was the 2nd Sample card I made for the same assignment as the Shoe card.
I tried something new which I enjoyed the final result butting getting there was messy!
I drew the shape I wanted & covered it with small pieces of masking tape & then inked over it, the embossing powder & Frantage then was added to the whole hat before I started to decorate it.
Fun card to make but can't see myself making many more messy projects unless I get gloves ;) xxx

Nearing the end.....

I still have a few cards to share with you before my journey ends with Crafters Companion, but I won't be able to share them today as they were for future shows & I don't want to spoil the goodies they have in store for you. 

I'm moving house in a few weeks & after my Drs appointment today I will finally be boxing up the rest of my craft rooms & maybe one day I will feel inspired enough to unpack them & pick up a craft knife & score board again. 

A few weeks back I purchased various watercolour goodies & a DVD I know I can draw but Iv never been able to colour in the images very good so I may dig out my painting stash (If I can remember were I put it!) xxx

Sneaky Peek Moonbeam Meadows

Another Sneaky Peek from Crafters Companion new Moonbeam Meadows crafting collection, which will be released this Monday. Here I used the Papercrafting Kit & Insert pack which is absolutely adorable. I made a C5 long card with side opening, I used Collall 3d gel & all purpose glue, added a piece of velvet ribbon & 3 holly embellishments.

I was tickled pink looking through all the image sheets, backing card & inserts for the new collection of Moonbeam Meadows from Crafters Companion. I'm really enjoying making cards from the kits as all the though & detail is there in front of you all you have to do is decide which card shape. Here I made a C5 card & added a couple if flowers a ribbon bow & a couple if pearls. Of course I used my Collall all purpose glue & 3d gel as I totally love it. xxx

I made this from a simple easel card & made it look like a computer screen & keyboard. This was the 1st one I made, I went on to cutting the card away from around the computer screen so only screen was left with no monitor xxx

This card is so easy to make & so much fun.

I used hair gel in a zip seal bag & taped it on the inside of the card so the dolphin photograph was all sqishy. I did this one in a lesson for a whole week of ladies who were made up with their cards.

Cassette Card for 30th Joint Birthday

I was asked today to make a 30th Joint Birthday card for my Daughters friends 80s themed Birthday.
I have been away from the craft room for a few days but I LOVE the 80s so couldn't say no.
I rattled my brains fondly looking back to an amazing decade that I enjoyed so much & the old tape cassettes may of peen a pain especially having to keep winding the tape back in with a pencil so though I would have a go at creating a card in the shape on one.
And here is how I did it..................

I designed the tape winder section using Microsoft office.
Folded A3 card to make a large A4 card.
Cut a piece of thick black card to cover the front of the card
Cut the centre window tape centre out in 1 piece so I could use pro markers to colour the tape & screen in.
Glued the main tape winder section onto the front of the card
Glued the centre I had just used my pro markers in back into place.
Cut a section of black card to make the shape at the base of the cassette.
Coloured in some card candy to make the pretend holes & siliconed them on along with 5 black buttons that should be screws.
I then sprayed everything with Iridescent spray & sparkle.

Was nice to get into the craft room after a few days away but now time to go start tea & think about my next project :) xxx
